Silent Samurai

Given that I don't know too much about traditional art I probably should say too much, but his head seems a little bit too small for his stature and body size. The expression is great though. I think his neck is a little too muscular, and the background would be better if it was white, to highlight the character.Some Japenese handpainted symbols would go great too, but that is just my opinion. I know you were going for personality, but I think that background has a huge influence in providing the ambience for a character. It helps get across a broader spectrum of emotions etc.
